Recruitment: Better results for less money?
We all know how time consuming and expensive recruitment can be- sometimes getting a good result can seem like pot luck and even for the experienced large company HR Director with money to spend on executive search there can be disappointing results.
But how about looking at recruitment in a different way, to maximize your chances of success and minimize the cost?
If only, you say? Well, try this approach:
We would argue that the key to successful recruitment – getting the best candidate into the organisation in an informed way and at a cost that demonstrates extremely good value for money - is to match the organisation’s skills and resources with those of an experienced recruiter who understands the dynamics of the external market. And it needn’t cost an arm and a leg either.
You should be able to use the recruiter’s skills where you need them: to source the candidates at the front end of the process perhaps, or for assessment once you have received a response from your own advertising. Provided you are confident in your own organisation’s ability to effectively handle the other parts of the process, this approach can reap huge rewards in cost savings and create a good partnership between company and recruiter.
We call this a modular approach to recruitment and have successfully used it to match very tight budgets with sometimes quite difficult recruitment assignments….usually the sort of thing that just can’t be achieved.
How?
Broadly, we have devised three modules that can be taken separately or together according to the individual needs of the client and the specific recruitment assignment and you can learn more about this provision by clicking here.
How assessment can help improve productivity
Some form of assessment is used in most organisations and ranges from informal objective setting and monitoring to the use of structured assessment methods for understanding how a person prefers to behave at work.
Psychometric instruments have always had a mixed press, but many successful companies have found that they can reap big rewards for the business by formalising the assessment process and achieving the buy-in of employees and directors.
Whatever tools you use to assess the individual or the team, your goal should be to achieve a positive impact on productivity that will lead to increased profitability.
We have a proven track record in using psychometric profiling and in our experience, the use of structured assessment methods can be extremely beneficial for the individual and the company, by focussing on the positive aspects of behaviour.
We have produced a quick and easy guide to the top 12 ways we believe assessment can help improve productivity, which we are delighted to share. You can download the guide by clicking here.
